What Is a Clay Pomade?

A clay pomade uses a natural clay base, in this case kaolin, instead of the waxes and oils in a traditional pomade. The clay absorbs oil, thickens the hair strand and delivers a true Matte Finish, so hair looks fuller and defined rather than wet. Because Clay Matte Pomade is water based, it gives clay texture without the removal effort an oil based product needs.

How to Use Matte Clay for Textured Styles

Matte clay rewards proper emulsifying: warm one to two knuckles between your palms until it spreads thin, then apply from the crown forward on towel dried or dry hair and comb into shape. Small layered applications give more control than one big scoop, and the hold builds each time you reapply. Damp fingers re-activate it later in the day for a quick reshape.

How do you apply Reuzel Clay Matte Pomade?
Scoop one knuckle of product, emulsify between your palms until fully spread, then apply to dry or slightly damp hair starting at the crown and working forward. Work scalp to ends, coating hair liberally, then comb into your desired shape. Apply more over any dry spots. Avoid wet hair unless you want diluted hold. Clay Matte spreads thin, so warming it fully in your palms before application is important. The product builds well, so layering small amounts gives more control than applying a single large scoop.
Does Reuzel Clay Matte wash out easily?
Yes. Clay Matte Pomade is water-soluble and rinses out with regular shampoo, no degreasing required. Even though kaolin clay has some natural absorbency, the formula does not bond to hair the way oil-based grease pomades do. Daily shampooing prevents any buildup.
